Defence

Cleared crews. Restricted sites. Zero compromise.

Interior & exterior wall systems built for high-security federal infrastructure — where cleared crews, precise execution, and zero rework are non-negotiable.

Interior & Exterior Walls Built for Defence-Grade Performance

RWC Systems delivers complete interior & exterior wall and ceiling scopes for Canadian defence construction — including steel stud framing, drywall systems, fire-rated assemblies, acoustic ceiling systems, shaft walls, security partitions, blast-resistant and ballistic assemblies, and specialty finishes for secure and sensitive environments.

Defence construction operates under a different set of pressures than any other commercial build. Security protocols restrict site access and crew eligibility. Schedule milestones are government-mandated and non-negotiable. Specialty assemblies require precision that standard commercial work does not demand. And once a facility is handed over, going back is not an option.
Our teams are built for this environment.

Why RWC

Schedule Holds. No Matter the Conditions.

Defence construction timelines are set by government programs, not market pressures — and they do not move. Once a project milestone is locked, the trade partners holding up a defence contractor are not facing a conversation. They are facing a contract failure.

RWC Systems is built for fixed-timeline environments. We plan manpower readiness before the project starts, scale crews on demand — including double shifts when the schedule demands it — and staff our field supervision to catch and resolve issues on the day. Many defence projects run in remote locations, well outside major centres. Our crews are willing to travel and equipped to work at remote project sites, in challenging geography, and on sites that do not have the support infrastructure of an urban build. We have done it before, and we staff for it.

Built Right the First Time. Every Time.

In most commercial construction, a deficiency can be corrected after the fact. In a defence facility, once sensitive infrastructure is installed and a secure space is commissioned, the trades are out. There is no corrective pass.

Every wall assembly, every fire stop, every penetration interface with the mechanical, electrical, and security installation crews has to be precise from the start. RWC Systems brings the field supervision, QA discipline, and crew experience to execute without shortcuts — in environments where security partitions, ballistic-resistant assemblies, and high-acoustic rated rooms require a standard of accuracy that goes well beyond typical commercial tolerances. We do not hand over work that needs a callback.

Our Scope in Defence Projects

RWC Systems provides the wall and ceiling systems that support defence facility construction — from hangar and barracks builds to training facilities, control rooms, and administrative infrastructure.

Scope list

  • Steel stud framing and drywall systems
  • Fire-rated wall and ceiling assemblies (1–4 hour systems)
  • Acoustic ceiling systems and high-acoustic-rated privacy rooms
  • Shaft wall and smoke partition systems
  • Security partitions and abuse-resistant assemblies
  • Ballistic-resistant and blast-resistant wall systems
  • SCIF-ready assemblies (RF shielding, reinforced framing, acoustic treatment) — capability RWC is actively positioning to deliver
  • Head-of-wall firestopping and penetration coordination
  • Vapor and air barrier systems
  • Specialty finishes for control rooms, briefing rooms, and administrative areas
  • Prefabricated wall panel systems where schedule and scope allow
  • Expanded scope coordination — doors, frames, hardware, and Division 10 specialties where a single-trade interface reduces GC coordination burden

A Trade Partner Built for High-Security Work

Defence construction rewards contractors who arrive prepared, hold their schedule, and deliver precision work under restricted conditions. It removes contractors who do not.

RWC Systems has built the workforce, clearance capacity, supervision structure, and coordination systems to operate at this level. We support general contractors from pre-construction coordination through to a clean, verified handover — with the documentation, field discipline, and security compliance that defence projects demand.
