RWC is looking for detail-orientated tapers to join our team and your duties will include sealing, joints, repairing cracks, and smoothing imperfections on walls and ceilings to create surfaces that are suitable for final treatment.
To be successful as an RWC taper, you should be able to complete task efficiently while maintaining a high quality of work.
Repairing cracks and any other damage to the drywall panels
Concealing any imperfections or exposed irregularities in the drywall surface.
Layering plaster or spackle with trowels to create a flat surface
Sanding down rough areas on the wall to create a smooth surface
Skimming the surface with a final layer of plaster in preparation for finishing work.
Managing and maintaining all the required equipment for the job
Keeping your supervisor abreast of your progress and reporting any job-related issues
Ensuring that all equipment and materials are used safely and effectively
Sound communication skills, with the ability to ready and understand blueprints and drawings. Tolerance for prolonged standing, bending, stretching and being able to work at heights.
Grade 12, Min 2-3 years’ experience or 1-2 years’ trade school certified in applicable program.
Working conditions can vary greatly depending upon the projects assigned to. Majority of work will be outside or in non-enclosed areas, often resulting in prolonged standing, walking, lifting, kneeling, and bending which many be strenuous physical activity.
